Escape to Love by Emma Calin
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Format: Kindle eBook
Gritty short story with true romance
Synopsis: Even in the barren wasteland of urban decay new green life is possible. In Nature and in Love, that which can be, somehow finds a crack, a corner or ledge and grasps its chance of life. A woman on the run from domestic violence with no one but her vulnerable autistic teenage child as a companion, lives in isolation and fear. While her hand to mouth scenarios are played out in the shadow of a threatening suspense, a story of crime and love unfolds around her.
Carol at Dizzy C’s Little Book Blog read and reviewed Escape to Love and this is an excerpt from her review: “This reminded me of those TV afternoon plays, where you are plunged into a scene with a few characters and the storyline tells you just enough about who they are and how they got to this scene before coming to a reveal and satisfying ending. The twist at the end was the reveal and satisfying ending. A lovely mystery novella.”

JB at Brook Cottage Books read and reviewed Knockout and this is an excerpt from her review: “I enjoyed this book. I thought the back story was excellent and the spicy love scenes in the book added a bit of ooh la la to this romance and left me very hot under the collar. Sometimes the dialogue was a bit soppy but hey Freddie is French and they say no one does romance like the French! The story has a few unexpected plot twists which I loved and really didn’t see coming. But be warned, you will need something to fan yourself with as Freddie is hot hot hot!”

The exotic landscape of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, described by an author who has been there, provides the backdrop for this story of romance and treachery.
The Book Maven read and reviewed Orion’s Gift and this is an excerpt from her review: “ I really liked that each chapter was the point of view of a different character. It made it very interesting to read. I also loved the setting. This part of Mexico is very beautiful and Anneli did a wonderful job of highlighting the beauty along with the dangers. Overall, it was a good story. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in a sweet contemporary romance set in the beautiful Baja Peninsula.”

The Star Child by Stephanie Keyes
Genre: Young Adult
Publisher: Inkspell Publishing
Format: Paperback and eBook
The world is about to be cloaked in darkness. Only one can stop the night
Synopsis: Kellen St. James has spent his entire life being overlooked as an unwanted, ordinary, slightly geeky kid. When the sudden death of his Gran takes him from the East coast to the rugged cliffs of Western Ireland, all that changes. That is until a beautiful girl, one who has haunted his dreams for the past eleven years of his life, shows up spinning tales of a prophecy. Not just any old prophecy either, but one in which Kellen plays a key role.
Jenny in Neverland read and reviewed The Star Child and this is an excerpt from her review: “This book is everything a YA fantasy novel should be; emotional, heart-warming and amusing at times with plenty of romance, excitement and action. It’s weird and wonderful and truly unique. The epilogue gave me shivers as it indicates that Kellen’s journey isn’t over and there’s more adventure to come in the sequel. Personally, I think the days of werewolves and vampires are over and Stephanie will definitely be a new, upcoming voice for Young Adult readers out there.”

But when all you can do is burst out laughing and hyperventilate every time you’re under pressure, keeping things under wraps is a hard task. Tanya at After The Final Chapters read and reviewed Breaking The Ice and this is an excerpt from her review: “Mandy does a great job of making us feel everything that’s going on in Breaking the Ice. She brings us deep into the story and we laugh when they laugh, blush with embarrassment and feel the pain when things don’t go exactly right. I read this story in less than a day, you just don’t feel the time going. The only thing that disappointed me was that it had to end. The sign of a good book! Mandy shows us that no matter who we are, what we do or whatever our problems are that having faith and believing in yourself really is half the battle!”
